Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Electromechanical Engineer to join our team in Belgium. In this role, your initial focus will be on designing and building prototype instruments to actuate microfluidic cartridges, contributing to R&D efforts aimed at developing and implementing innovative processes. As the project progresses, you will also collaborate with external suppliers to design and develop cutting-edge medical device instruments that meet industry standards.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop jigs to test microfluidic cartridges, with the goal of evolving these into fully functional products for production and deployment.
Create detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
Take the lead on integrating mechanical and electrical systems, including interfacing with sensors, actuators, and microfluidic cartridges.
Design and troubleshoot simple electrical circuits, select components, and ensure compatibility with mechanical designs.
Collaborate with external partners when necessary for specialized electrical system needs.
Prototype, test, and refine designs to meet performance, quality, and reliability standards.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechatronics or equivalent
You are fluent in English
Several years of hand’s-on experience in designing and building of electro-mechanical prototypes,
Background covers mechanics, electronics, pneumatic. Should be able to design and assemble any of those.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD
The job will be at least 50% of hand’s on work with the jigs and instruments in the lab
